Hello and Good day to all of you lovely people! Today is a lovely day in the Bay Area, we have beautiful weather. If you’re at work decide right now that you are going to enjoy yourself no matter what. Tell yourself that you are not going to let anyone or anything steal your joy. If you’re not working today, get out and enjoy the beautiful day that God has provided for you, do something new and exciting. Remember don’t sweat the small stuff, keep it simple and let God be your guide. In Psalm 48:14 it says that God will guide us to the very end. So, if it seems like your GPS is always re-calculating, look to God for guidance he has your course perfectly plotted.
As always LIVE, LAUGH & LOVE
This is something that I wrote back in December of 2010 for a project that a family member put together. She posed the question, “What’s Going On?” to everyone in the group and asked each of us to write about what we thought was happening in the world. The following are my thoughts about what was and is going on in the world. Read the rest of this entry »
How does one begin to live the life that they have envisioned? I believe the answer to this question can be and is different for everyone. For some it may mean making a detailed plan and for others it may mean diving in head first. Whatever the mode of attack is one thing is for sure, you MUST be in a positive environment. Yes, the environment MUST be positive. Guess what? It all begins with you, so let’s begin.
First of all you have to stop feeding yourself negativity for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stop living on “I can’t”; “I’m not good enough”; “I’m not smart or intelligent enough” and all of the other negative snacks that you’ve been eating. It’s time to replace this junk with more healthier positive meals of “I can”; “I’m good enough”; “I am smart or intelligent enough”. Your thoughts are very powerful and even though you may not think so, all of those negative thoughts are seeping into your mind, taking root and making you miserable. Replace the negative with the positive. Remember “Garbage In’ Garbage Out”. Read the rest of this entry »
Determination: firmness of purpose; resoluteness.
In 2002 I decided to fulfill my lifelong dream of earning a college degree. Now, this was not my first attempt at pursuing a college degree. When I graduated from high school I had been accepted to what was then California State University Hayward; but because of lack of knowledge and financial issues, I decided to go to a local community college. I attended the community college for about two years and nothing came from it, no degree or certificate earned. Of course there were other times when I returned to college to complete this journey, but it was not until 2002 that I began to realize this dream. It wasn’t easy; I worked fulltime, maintained a household, took care of my two children and attended school one night per week with weekly five hour study groups. In the beginning I didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, but as time passed I began to see it. Finally, graduation came; I walked across the stage and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services in June of 2005. Wow, I did it! Success! However, my educational journey did not end there because in the fall of 2005 I applied to the Masters of Social Work (MSW) program at California State University East Bay, the former CSU Hayward. Yes, that’s right, back where I started. Read the rest of this entry »
