What’s Going On???

This is something that I wrote back in December of 2010 for a project that a family member put together.  She posed the question, “What’s Going On?” to everyone in the group and asked each of us to write about what we thought was happening in the world.  The following are my thoughts about what was and is going on in the world. Live It Up!

This weekend, we had beautiful weather in the Bay Area!  A group of women, including myself, had the pleasure of taking a lovely limousine ride to the Napa Valley for champagne tasting at Domaine Chandon in Yountville, California.   What a wonderful relaxing time we had.   Before our journey began we met at the event planner’s home where we had coffee, tea and a lite breakfast.  After the breakfast we played two games, name that tune and movie trivia.  On the ride up we listened to music, drank mimosas and chatted all the way.  Now, I’m not a true drinker and the mimosa on the ride up was truly enough for me, so I didn’t do any tasting at Domaine Chandon, but some of the other ladies tasted and enjoyed themselves.   While there, we enjoyed the beautiful grounds at Domain Chandon as we sat outside and continued our stimulating conversations.  After our time at Domaine Chandon our limo picked us up and took us to Graton Resort and Casino in Rohnert Park, California.  I’m not a gambler, but I had a wonderful time anyway.  It was just nice to be out with good people enjoying life!  We had packed a lunch, so there was no need for us to stop and purchase any food on our excursion. My How You’ve Changed

Change – to become different; to make (someone or something) different; to become something else

Change.  It’s a normal occurrence that we all go through at some point in our lives, some more than others.  Some of us welcome change with open arms and others hate to see it coming in their direction.  The problem is when you want things or people around you to change to make you feel more comfortable.  I’ve got something to tell you; you can’t change anyone or anything.  The only place where you can affect change is within yourself.  Yes, that’s right it all begins with you.  If you want to live the life you have always envisioned for yourself, you have to go after your dreams.  If you want to live a happier life with less stress and more peace, you have to make it happen.  It won’t be easy, but you have to take the initiative to move your life into the direction that you want.  I promise you it will be well worth all of the hard work and sacrifices that you will make.  No one owes you anything in this life and you cannot continue sitting around waiting for opportunities to come knocking at your door.  No more excuses or playing the blame game, the choice is yours.

Here’s something to think about, what is one thing that you can change today that will help you start your journey to living the life you want and deserve?  Remember anything is possible you just have to have faith and trust in God.  Live, Laugh, Love

What’s My Destination??

First things first, you may have an idea of what you want to do with your life; you might be in the groove of doing what you want to do.  However, it may not be going the way you thought or wanted it to go.  You might be asking yourself, “What’s going on?  How come I’m not seeing any progress doing this thing that I want to do?”  You may be to the point of where you’re thinking about quitting, but don’t give up just yet.  The key to doing what you want to do is you must have a vision.  Yes, you need to have a vision for your life.  Why?  Because the vision will help you stay focused on your ultimate goal.  In Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Although this verse was written under a different context, I believe that it is definitely useful when referring to your life and living it.  Think about it this way, if you don’t know where you’re going you won’t know how to get there.  What I’m saying is that you have to see in your mind’s eye your destination and then you can plot your course on how to get there.  So, take some time to think about what your vision is, how you want to live your life from this point on.  Once you have figured this out, you can plot your course.  Hey, don’t for get to begin the process with a prayer asking God for guidance.  You want your vision for your life to be in line with God’s vision for your life.  As always remember to Live, Laugh and Love each and every day.
