So, I had an epiphany about writing this Mind, Body & Spirit series for the blog.  In the beginning I was going to write something with lots of information and statistics about the three topics, but then I heard a small voice telling me to “KISS”, Keep It Simple Sister!  With that said, this is going to be sweet and simple.

The mind is the part of us that is responsible for our thoughts and feelings; it is where consciousness resides.  Our thoughts guide and impact our daily lives.  Researchers say that we have more than 50,000 thoughts per day and most of these thoughts are negative.  Wow, that’s a lot of thoughts and a lot of negativity.

Question:  How do you talk to yourself?

Give that question some thought and see if your internal conversation is more negative or positive.  You might say, “I never talk negatively to myself.  I’m a positive person.”  We all do it, sometimes the negative self talk is second nature.  It’s like we have been programmed for these types of thoughts.  We have to begin to think and speak more positively to ourselves.

How does one begin to remove the negative and replace it with the positive?  Start with affirmations, using positive quotes and/or phrases instead of the negative self talk.

Here are a few to get started with:

I am beautiful.

I am intelligent.

I am loved.

I am happy.

I have peace.
