True Beauty by: Eleanor Grier

I have seen true beauty

It exists

but not to gaze at

it exists to be revealed

I am beautiful and life blesses me

as I contemplate God’s grace in

the first hours of the morning

discern the ripeness of a watermelon at the market

bask in the sun on a lazy summer day

I am the wisdom of the Earth

knowing all the delights found in the heart

I hear the reality of life from my own magnificence

I am certain this magnificence is a reflection of my

true essence

I am empty of pretense

I relish the divine

The divine being, an ever-present, ever-possible

creation of my own

beingness
